Surge Protection

How surge protectors work

The live cable or main power line in a surge protector contains an additional linked connection that feeds to a ground wire. An earth wire’s purpose would be to direct any extra current safely into the floor. The surge link from the shield stays inactive until a bigger than normal voltage appears. This extra current is then securely redirected through the excess earth wire, directly into the floor. This prevents more current than normal from flowing into your appliances effectively ensuring that they are protected from any injury which can be caused by power surges.
